After 9 years at Inter, Dejan Stankovic has terminated his contract with the Italian team. Even though he was very loved by Inter’s fans and by the club president Massimo Moratti, Stankovic has chosen to leave the Nerazzurri.
One of the reasons being that in the last season he played only 3 matches and he wanted to play more. He showed gratitude to Inter fans by leaving a message on the official website of the Italian club where he thanks the fans for having trusted him and suport him all the time.
In the same message he thanks President Massimo Moratti because he gave him a chance to play in Inter shirt and to won many trophies.
The 35-year-old arrived at Inter in 2004 from Lazio Roma and managed to collect 315 appearances for the Nerazzurri. In this nine-year spell at San Siro, Stankovic has won five Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia finals and one Champions League trophy in 2010.
The Serbian international is a free agent now and can sign with any team.
